Kingly Court sits just off Carnaby Street, tucked into Kingly Street in the heart of Soho, W1B 5PW. It’s a three-minute walk from Oxford Circus. What makes it work as a food destination rather than just a pretty courtyard is the range.

This is the part that surprises first-timers. Kingly Court isn’t themed around one type of food; it’s a working cross-section of what’s happening in London’s independent restaurant scene right now.
On a single loop of the courtyard, you’ll pass Syrian sharing plates, Filipino classics, Chongqing-style noodles, Peruvian ceviche and ambitious cocktails, Greek dishes, tonkotsu ramen, and Neapolitan pizza.
Casual vs Book-Ahead Spots
Not every restaurant in the courtyard runs the same way, and knowing the difference saves you a wasted trip.
Walk-in friendly: Several of the noodle bars and smaller sharing-plate spots operate on a first-come basis, especially at lunch. Good for solo diners or anyone who’s decided on dinner about four minutes ago.
Better to book: Anywhere doing sharing plates for groups, or a restaurant with a single standout dish everyone’s heard about, fills up fast on weekend evenings. If you’ve got a specific place in mind for a Friday or Saturday night, book it.
Brunch and groups need more notice again. Weekend bottomless brunch slots across the courtyard tend to go first, and anything for 10 or more people is worth a phone call rather than an online form.
Where Paradiso Fits In
Among restaurants in Kingly Court, we have burgers and cocktails.
We sit on the ground floor with entrances off Carnaby Street, Beak Street, and Kingly Street itself, with booth seating looking straight into the courtyard downstairs and the kitchen running upstairs. Everything’s cooked to order: hand-formed patties, toasted brioche, sauces made in-house rather than squeezed from a bottle.
The Cheeseburger is the one most people start with: smoked cheddar, house burger sauce, baby gem, pickles. From there, regulars tend to move on to the Truffle Burger, the one that brings them back, or the Temper Smash Burger if they’re after our answer to the best smashburger in Soho. If you like heat that builds rather than hits you all at once, the Hot Shot Burger’s fermented chilli mayo is a slow burn worth trying.
Making the Most of a Visit
A few things make a Kingly Court visit run smoother, especially if it’s your first time:
- Come hungry for options, not just food. Half the fun is seeing what else is around you before you sit down.
- Check opening hours per restaurant. Not everywhere in the courtyard runs the same schedule. We’re open Mon–Thu 12 pm–11 pm, Fri–Sat until midnight, and Sun 12 pm–9 pm.
- Weekends move fast. If bottomless brunch is on your list anywhere in the courtyard, book ahead. Ours runs Saturday and Sunday, midday to 4 pm, in 90-minute sittings.
- Bring the group. Kingly Court handles big tables well across most of its restaurants, ours included; we can seat groups from 2 up to 30.
Start at Paradiso
